Tadweer Group is leveraging artificial intelligence to create a safer, smarter workplace, according to Hussain Al Hammadi, Executive Director of Crisis Management for the Abu Dhabi-based waste management and recycling services company.
In a recent interview with Aletihad, Al Hammadi explained how digital innovation is transforming the company's approach to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management.
"The utilisation of technology and AI is one of Tadweer Group's overall objectives specifically within the Crisis Management and HSE team," he said. "We continue to automate technology in all HSE and business continuity management processes for the effective execution of our operations, analysis of data, and reporting safety incidents."
A key milestone, he said, is the launch of Maximo HSE, an advanced AI-powered platform designed to automate HSE procedures across Tadweer's operations.
"To ensure we are ahead of the curve, we continually assess our operations and launch new initiatives supporting our goal of an injury-free workplace. This year, we launched an advanced AI solution to automate the HSE Process (Maximo HSE) and enable us to analyse workplace safety and build decisions to prevent incidents."
Monday marked the annual World Day for Safety and Health at Work, which promotes the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally. "At Tadweer Group, we prioritise health and safety every day," Al Hammadi said.
He noted that Tadweer's HSE strategy is structured around three core pillars: a robust HSE management system aligned with ADOSH SF, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards; a strong behaviour-based safety programme; and a commitment to maintaining a physically safe working environment.
The company also takes proactive steps across its facilities, including regular inspections, audits, near-miss reporting, and continuous training under the TadweerSafe 2.0 Programme, Al Hammadi said.
"We are working proactively alongside our service providers to prevent incidents with rigorous processes in place," he said.
Tadweer Group also maintains regular check-ins with employees, runs awareness campaigns on safety, and conducts on-ground site visits in line with its safety strategy.
