ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
Burjeel Holdings has been awarded the contract to operate and manage ADNOC’s newly built Das Hospital, a critical healthcare facility located on Das Island — an offshore hub situated approximately 160 kilometres northwest of Abu Dhabi city in the Arabian Gulf.
The new facility is designed to serve as the principal healthcare and emergency response centre for Das Island, which plays a vital role in the UAE’s energy infrastructure.
“Through this partnership with Burjeel Holdings, ADNOC’s state-of-the-art Das Hospital will provide access to top-tier healthcare and emergency services for our employees, reinforcing our Energy for Wellbeing strategy,” said Dr. Ghuwaya Al Neyadi, SVP, Group Medical & Wellbeing at ADNOC. “Our people are our most important asset and ADNOC will continue to prioritise their wellbeing and foster a healthy working environment.”
The new hospital will offer comprehensive medical services around the clock. It features outpatient clinics in general surgery, internal medicine, family medicine, occupational health, ENT, dental, ophthalmology, and cardiopulmonary care. The facility is also equipped with an emergency department, a minor operating room, licensed pharmacies, and a blood bank.
Burjeel Holdings will oversee both clinical and administrative operations of the hospital. “We are proud to strengthen our partnership with ADNOC through the management of the new Das Hospital,” said John Sunil, Group CEO of Burjeel Holdings. “This initiative reflects our continued commitment to extending advanced, high-quality healthcare to strategic and remote locations.”
The facility includes 23 inpatient beds covering quarantine and critical care units, with capacity for both acute and chronic cases. It is supported by diagnostic imaging services—X-ray, CT scan, ultrasound—as well as physiotherapy, rehabilitation, a decontamination unit, ambulance bays, and a helipad to facilitate medical evacuations.
Replacing the former Das Medical Centre, the hospital represents a significant upgrade, offering integrated, high-quality healthcare for the island’s residents and ADNOC workforce. The project builds on Burjeel Holdings’ existing partnerships with ADNOC, including the management of Al Dhannah Hospital in Al Dhafra.
