TRENDS Research & Advisory discussed opportunities for joint research cooperation with Samir Saran, President of the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in New Delhi, India, focusing on areas of mutual interest to advance knowledge and achieve shared objectives.

The discussion took place during Saran’s visit to TRENDS headquarters, where he met with Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS.

The two sides explored ways to activate their partnership in scientific research, youth empowerment, and the exchange of expertise and information.

Dr. Al-Ali highlighted the pivotal role of research in building and advancing societies, noting that collaboration with leading think tanks, like ORF, represents a strategic step toward achieving these goals.

“Scientific research forms the foundation of knowledge and progress,” Dr. Al-Ali said.

“Through enhanced cooperation and knowledge exchange, we can tackle global challenges more effectively and deliver innovative solutions that serve humanity. Empowering youth to become future leaders in research and innovation remains a top priority for us,” he added.

Saran expressed his enthusiasm about this partnership, praising TRENDS’ leading role in enriching the regional and global research landscape.

"At ORF, we view collaboration with TRENDS as an opportunity to share expertise and insights,” Saran stated, emphasising that partnerships between think tanks enhance their ability to understand complex issues and provide in-depth analyses.

The discussion also touched on organising joint workshops, researcher exchange programmes, and the publication of specialised studies and reports on regional and international issues of mutual interest, supporting the research goals of both TRENDS and the ORF.
