Metallica has been announced as the third act on the line-up for the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix After-Race Concerts.
The iconic American metal band is to rock Etihad Park on Yas Island on Saturday, 6 December, joining an already stellar lineup of international artists, which includes Benson Boone on Thursday, December 4, and Katy Perry on Sunday, December 7.
Their electrifying, high-octane hits like Enter Sandman, Unforgiven and Nothing Else Matters should be just the fuel to get fans' engines revving ahead of race day at the Yas Marina Circuit.
Formed in 1981 by vocalist and guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich and including guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo, Metallica has become one of the most influential and successful rock bands in history.
They have sold nearly 125 million albums worldwide and generating more than 17 billion streams while playing to millions of fans on all seven continents.
Metallica's awards and accolades include nine Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, multiple MTV Video Music Awards, a 2009 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and Sweden's Polar Music Prize.
