Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, in cooperation with heritage preservation institutions, will take part in the 18th edition of the Tan-Tan Moussem in Morocco, held under the theme Tan-Tan Moussem: A Living Testament to the Universality of Nomadic Culture. Organised under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco, the event will take place from May 14-18, 2025.

At the UAE pavilion, the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority will showcase Emirati cultural heritage in collaboration with the UAE Camel Racing Federation, with traditional competitions such as camel racing and other events offering visitors an authentic glimpse into the UAE’s rich Bedouin heritage.

Emirati Heritage

The UAE pavilion will feature a diverse and engaging programme of events and activities designed to showcase Emirati heritage, including performances by folk art troupes, live demonstrations of traditional handicrafts, Emirati culinary arts, photo exhibitions, traditional games, and poetry evenings. The pavilion will also host musical concerts featuring renowned UAE artists.

Through its participation in this landmark cultural event, the authority aims to highlight the multifaceted nature of Emirati heritage, while underscoring Abu Dhabi’s efforts to preserve it for future generations.

The authority will further promote Emirati heritage and traditions on the international stage, showcasing their richness and diversity, and reinforcing the cultural ties between the UAE and Morocco.

It highlights the shared values, customs, and traditions that unite the two nations, reflecting the continuous growth and development of their bilateral relations across all sectors, including the cultural sphere.

Recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2008 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Tan-Tan Moussem, embodies the nomadic lifestyle centred on mobility and deep harmony with nature.

The festival also serves as a key platform for intercultural dialogue among diverse communities, showcasing shared heritage elements and the cultural threads that unite desert folk traditions.
