Israel and Iran continued to trade strikes on Saturday as the conflict unleashed more than a week ago shows no signs of abating.

The Israeli military confirmed it had attacked a nuclear facility in the Iranian city of Isfahan, home to much of the country's nuclear infrastructure, in overnight attacks.

The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, confirmed the attack but only referred to a "centrifuge manufacturing workshop."

The latest attacks were intended to cause further damage to the facility.

According to Iran's state radio, citing a security official, no harmful substances were released in the wake of the strikes. Grossi also said there was no danger of radiation from the attack.

"We know this facility well. There was no nuclear material at this site and therefore the attack on it will have no radiological consequences," he said in a statement released by the IAEA.

The Iranian security official said Israel also attacked other targets in central Iran, without reporting fatalities.

According to Grossi, four buildings at the site have so far been damaged by Israeli attacks. These include a chemistry laboratory, a plant for processing uranium ore, a factory for the production of reactor fuel and a plant for the production of uranium metal that was still under construction.

Reports of further attacks

In the evening, residents of Tehran reported a new wave of attacks after dark. Iranian media said air defences had been heard north of the metropolis.

No information on possible targets was initially available.

Iran said in the evening it had launched two new waves of drones at Israel.

Earlier, the Israeli military reported having intercepted another missile attack on Israel launched from Iran, with no initial reports of impacts.

It was initially not possible to independently verify the claims from either side.

US President Donald Trump on Thursday said he would make a decision on whether to intervene in the conflict within the next two weeks.

The Iranian Health Ministry said more than 400 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on Iran so far.
