ASUNCIÓN (WAM)
The FIFA Congress, during its 75th session held on Thursday in Asunción, Paraguay, elected Counsellor Mohammed Al Kamali as Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
The session was chaired by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and attended by representatives of FIFA’s member associations.
The UAE Football Association was represented by Obaid Salem Al Shamsi, Second Vice President of the Association, Amal Hassan Bu Shallakh, Board Member, and Mohammed Abdullah Hazzam Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General.
The appointment of Counsellor Mohammed Al Kamali to one of the most important standing committees in FIFA represents a new administrative milestone for UAE sports on the global stage and reaffirms the international federation’s confidence in the UAE’s national talents, who have demonstrated their competence across various fields, particularly in football.
Notably, Al Kamali becomes the first-ever Chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee from the Asian continent.
The agenda of the 75th FIFA Congress included several key items, most notably a speech by Gianni Infantino, a review of the annual report and the activities organised by FIFA in 2024, financial reports, and the election of judicial committees, along with discussions on proposals submitted by member associations.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the UAE Football Association delegation also held a number of meetings with representatives of member associations.
