TRENDS Research & Advisory, as an official sponsor, actively participated in the World Crisis & Emergency Management Summit 2025, organised by the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) over two days under the theme Together Towards Building Global Resilience at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

On the summit’s sidelines, TRENDS set up a dedicated knowledge pavilion showcasing a selection of publications relevant to the summit’s themes and the center’s latest diverse research outputs. The pavilion attracted prominent visitors, including Ali Saeed Al Neyadi, Chairman of NCEMA, who browsed TRENDS' most recent studies, particularly in disaster and crisis management.
Other notable visitors included Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Cyber Security Council, Christer Viktorsson, Director General of the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation, and many summit participants and guests. Visitors expressed great interest in the center's scientific content and praised TRENDS’ active presence in local and international initiatives.
During the official summit ceremony, Ali Saeed Al Neyadi, Chairman of NCEMA, honored TRENDS among the official sponsors and partners. TRENDS also honored Al Neyadi by presenting him with its latest research publications.
The TRENDS team also held side meetings with several guests and participants, including a discussion with Jamal Nasser Al Suwaider, Executive Director of the News Content Sector at the Emirates News Agency (WAM), to explore opportunities for collaboration and highlight the importance of media content grounded in scientific research.
Specialised Bulletin
To mark the summit's occasion, the TRENDS Advisory Sector launched a specialised digital bulletin on emergency management, A Disaster in Focus. This analytical series dissects major modern-day disasters worldwide, offering concise insights into the key facts, causes, contributing factors, consequences, and lessons learned.
The bulletin aims to raise awareness about professional risk mitigation and emergency management approaches.
The first issue of A Disaster in Focus focused on the Grand Kartal Hotel fire in Türkiye in January 2025, which claimed 78 lives. The bulletin analyses the incident’s core details, causes, contributing elements, impact, and key takeaways relevant to crisis and emergency management.
Scientific Research
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, emphasised that the center’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting international and regional efforts in this vital field. He noted that the summit provides a valuable platform for exchanging experiences and developing best practices.
Dr. Al-Ali also stressed the role of research in addressing global challenges and explained that A Disaster in Focus bulletin was launched to spotlight practical lessons from real-world disasters.
He added that TRENDS’ participation in the summit for the third consecutive year underscores its commitment to supporting the event and helping amplify its global message. The summit, he concluded, serves as a worldwide platform for strengthening partnerships and fostering knowledge exchange.
