The Sharjah Municipal Council (SMC) and Sharjah City Municipality, represented by Salem Ali Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Municipal Council, and Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director-General of the Municipality, welcomed a delegation from the People's Republic of China, led by Nanjing Mayor Chen Zhichang.
Organised by the Sharjah Government Relations Department, the visit aims to strengthen cultural, economic, and tourism connections between Sharjah and Nanjing.
Al Muhairi emphasised that the visit represents Sharjah's expanding international relations, as well as its standing as a desirable location for living, tourism, and investment.
He underlined the visit's value in encouraging knowledge sharing and creating new opportunities for collaboration.
Al Tunaiji remarked that the municipality is dedicated to creating strategic collaborations with foreign entities, exchanging municipal service experiences, and promoting Sharjah's digital innovations and infrastructural development.
Mayor Chen Zhichang lauded Sharjah for its quick growth, investment-friendly climate, and pioneering position in infrastructure and development projects.
He also congratulated the municipal council and municipality for implementing best practices to serve the people and improve quality of life in accordance with Sharjah's overall development goal.
The meeting was attended by members of the local council, local authorities, and the Chinese delegation.
