ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

The UAE Embassy in Bangkok has announced that the Kingdom of Thailand's authorities will launch the Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) system on May 1, 2025. Under the new system, all travellers entering Thailand must complete a pre-arrival electronic registration, replacing the previously required paper-based immigration form filled out upon arrival.

The Embassy highlighted that Emirati travellers are among the nationalities exempt from obtaining a pre-arranged tourist visa to Thailand. Emirati nationals may stay in the country for up to 60 days without a visa, with the option to extend their stay for an additional month. This facilitation reflects the longstanding and close bilateral relations between the UAE and Thailand, built over decades of cooperation and mutual understanding across various fields.

The Embassy further explained that UAE nationals can register for the Digital Arrival Card by visiting tdac.immigration.go.th, no later than three days before their scheduled travel date. Registration requires travellers to input personal information, passport details, travel itinerary, and accommodation information in Thailand, and complete a health declaration form. Upon successful registration, travellers will receive a confirmation email containing a QR code, which must be presented to immigration officers upon arrival.

The Embassy noted that the TDAC system is currently available free of charge and is designed to be user-friendly. It offers travellers the flexibility to amend their submitted information at any time prior to arrival and to complete the registration on behalf of others.

The Embassy strongly encourages Emirati travellers to review the travel requirements by destination through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website or smart application and to register for the "Twajudi" service via the Ministry's website, app, or WhatsApp platform. These measures ensure that the Ministry can deliver a swift and effective response in case of emergencies, providing citizens with a safe and seamless travel experience.
