His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, received a delegation from the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Authority, led by Abdulhamid Mohammed Saeed, Chairman of the Authority, at Al Nakheel Palace in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed was briefed on the Authority’s strategy, which aims to maximise the economic and social impact of endowments by promoting investment in Awqaf assets, and channelling them into the development of sustainable initiatives and projects. These efforts are designed to create tangible positive outcomes for various sectors of society, reinforcing the role of Awqaf Abu Dhabi in fostering a culture of giving and generosity rooted in Emirati values, and passing this legacy on to future generations.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed emphasised the keen interest of the UAE’s wise leadership, led by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in supporting the Awqaf sector, recognising its vital contribution to comprehensive and sustainable social and economic development.
He highlighted the importance of launching impactful projects and community initiatives that align with the country's development goals, and contribute to enhancing quality of life.
The Chairman of Awqaf and Minors Affairs Authority noted that Awqaf Abu Dhabi is operating under a strategy aligned with the 'Year of Community 2025' initiative, launched under the theme 'Hand in Hand' by the UAE President. The Authority is pursuing innovative investment strategies that strike a balance between financial returns and social impact, in line with national priorities and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
