His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, has received a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), headed by His Excellency Dr Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director General of ACTVET.

During the meeting, held at the Ruler Representative’s Court in Al Ain Region, His Highness was briefed on initiatives and programmes implemented by the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) across Al Ain Region, aimed at training and preparing national talent by enhancing their technical and professional skills in line with current and future needs of the local labour market.

The meeting also addressed the centre’s strategic vision, ongoing initiatives and plans, including the expansion of Applied Technology Schools, the development of academic programmes at Fatima College of Health Sciences, Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, and the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI), as well as efforts to integrate artificial intelligence solutions and broaden the scope of evening programmes.

His Highness emphasised the importance of technical and vocational education in preparing national talent across key sectors, fostering a culture of innovation, and advancing a knowledge-based economy.

His Highness also highlighted the need to adopt the latest advanced technological solutions in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to further strengthen the UAE’s leading position in this rapidly evolving domain, while supporting the empowerment of Emirati youth and their integration in driving sustainable economic and social development in the Al Ain Region.

During the meeting, His Highness reaffirmed the significance of offering diverse academic and training programmes that align with the evolving needs of the local labour market, while providing students with integrated learning environments that equip them with high-quality skills, enhance their future readiness, and empower them to contribute to the development of national high-priority sectors.

His Excellency Dr Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi highlighted the centre’s ongoing efforts to advance technical and vocational education and training across Abu Dhabi, and to address the needs of the local labour market by equipping a skilled new generation of young national talent. His Excellency noted that these efforts are driven by the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, modern teaching methodologies and curricula, and the attraction of top local and international expertise to support and enhance the educational system in this vital field.

Al Shamsi expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the wise leadership for its continued support of the technical and vocational education and training sector, reaffirming the centre’s commitment to advancing its programmes and initiatives in line with national aspirations and future development goals.

Notably, the Abu Dhabi Technical and Vocational Education and Training Centre (ADVETC) was established in 2010 to oversee this strategic sector across Abu Dhabi, to prepare national talent in key technical and vocational fields and equip them to contribute effectively to the achievement of sustainable development goals across vital sectors, in alignment with the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
