The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has issued a decision to administratively close Wafi Hypermarket L.L.C., located in the Musaffah Industrial City of Abu Dhabi.
The establishment, holding trade license number CN- 1186859, has been found in violation of Law No. (2) of 2008 regarding food in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and its associated legislations. The authority found that operational practices in the outlet also posed a significant risk to public health.
The identification of observed violations and any related closures are part of ongoing inspection efforts to strengthen the food safety system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, ADAFSA has said. The authority has also highlighted its supervisory role in ensuring that establishments comply with food safety requirements, and that all types of establishments and food products are subject to periodic inspections by inspectors to guarantee compliance with the highest food safety standards.
ADAFSA also encourages the public to report any violations detected in any food establishment, including non-compliance with hygiene standards or suspicion of food content, by calling the toll-free number for the Abu Dhabi Government, 800555.
