UAE ministers and officials have said that the visit of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), to the Republic of Türkiye marks a pivotal milestone in the trajectory of UAE-Türkiye relations.

The visit carries profound humanitarian messages, and reinforces the values of mutual understanding and cooperation, particularly in the fields of women’s empowerment, family welfare, and the promotion of shared human values.

The ministers highlighted that Her Highness Sheikha Fatima represents an exceptional model of female leadership, having dedicated her efforts—both nationally and internationally—to advancing the empowerment of women and families. Her meetings with senior Turkish officials, most notably President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan, provided fruitful opportunities to exchange visions on key social and developmental issues.

The visit served as a culmination of the evolving partnership between the UAE and Türkiye, and opened doors to expanded cooperation in education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and community development. It also spotlighted collaboration in environmental protection, sustainability, and youth empowerment.

Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, noted that trade and investment relations between the UAE and Türkiye are experiencing unprecedented growth. Non-oil trade between the two countries reached $40.5 billion in 2024, driven by the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, positioning Türkiye as a key strategic partner.

HEr Highness Sheikha Fatima’s humanitarian and leadership contributions earns her broad recognition, culminating in the awarding by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Turkey's Order of the Republic in appreciation of her efforts in advancing the causes of women, family, and children—and affirming her distinguished global stature.

UAE ministers and officials, including Maryam bint Ahmed Al Hammadi, Minister of State and Secretary-General of the UAE Cabinet; Dr. Maitha Al Shamsi, Minister of State; Ohood Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future; Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State; Khalifa Shaheen Almarar, Minister of State; Alia Bint Abdulla Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship; and Al Reem Abdullah Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood - commended Her Highness Sheikha Fatima's global vision and pioneering role in fostering intercultural dialogue and strengthening shared values.

The officials concurred that Sheikha Fatima’s contributions to humanitarian causes and women's empowerment have garnered widespread recognition, culminating in the conferment of Turkey's Order of the Republic by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This honour acknowledges her significant efforts in advancing the well-being of women, families, and children, affirming her distinguished global standing.

The ministers and officials further noted that Her Highness Sheikha Fatima's visit to the Sheikh Zayed Children’s Complex in Istanbul was widely acknowledged as a significant symbol of her enduring dedication to humanitarian care.
