Fakih Fertility Group has launched the UAE’s first accredited fellowship programme in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, marking a major milestone in the advancement of reproductive medicine and specialist training in the country.
Accredited by the National Institute for Health Specialties (NIHS), the pioneering three-year fellowship was inaugurated by Mohammed Al-Houqani, Secretary-General of NIHS, during a ceremony attended by senior officials from the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi.
He described the initiative as a key step towards achieving world-class standards in medical education and healthcare training.
The programme offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates clinical practice, surgical training, research, and leadership development in assisted reproductive technologies (ART). Fellows will train at the Fakih Fertility Center in Abu Dhabi, gaining hands-on experience with advanced technologies under expert mentorship. Upon completion, participants will be licensed as specialists in reproductive medicine and infertility in the UAE.
Michael Fakih, Founder of Fakih Fertility Group and Chairman of Academic Affairs, said the initiative reflects the group’s commitment to advancing medical training and innovation in fertility care. He praised the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi for its role in shaping policies that have positioned the UAE as a regional leader in specialised healthcare education.
Yasmine Sajjad, Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Infertility at Fakih Fertility Center, commended Fakih’s leadership in realising the programme. She invited obstetricians and gynaecologists to take part and enhance their clinical expertise and career development.
The fellowship aligns with the UAE’s healthcare strategy and aims to support the next generation of reproductive medicine specialists in addressing complex fertility challenges through innovation and excellence in care.
