Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, received Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, at the State Guest House "Jamuna Palace" in the capital, Dhaka, as part of his official visit to Bangladesh.
During the meeting, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Chief Adviser.
The two sides exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual concern, particularly the enhancement of cooperation in all areas of shared interest, especially in sustainable development and expanding the horizons of bilateral partnership.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon, accompanied by a high-level delegation. They were received by Lutfi Siddiqi, Special Envoy for International Affairs to the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government of Bangladesh.
The visit came in support of the strong bilateral relations between the two countries, which have witnessed significant development across various sectors.
Accompanying Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak during this visit was a high-level delegation that included Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State; Mohammed Abdulrahman Mohammed Abdulghafour Al Hawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Investment; Abdullah Ali Al Hamoudi, UAE Ambassador to the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
The two parties discussed the importance of exchanging expertise and knowledge and supporting sustainable initiatives. They emphasised the importance of future partnerships that serve mutual interests.
Both sides reaffirmed the strength of the existing bilateral relations and expressed a sincere desire to enhance future avenues of cooperation in line with the aspirations of both countries for balanced and sustainable development that supports regional stability and prosperity.
At the end of the visit, they underscored the importance of continuing joint work and intensifying the exchange of visits between officials from both countries to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation, serving the mutual interests of the United Arab Emirates and the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
